This is the digital version of The Norwegian Short Film Festival 2020

The digital version of The Norwegian Short Film Festival 2020 is approaching rapidly.

Since the corona virus outbreak reached Norway, we have been working non-stop to arrange an alternative festival edition that we are finally getting ready to present. The contents of this year’s festival will be no different than usual: competition shorts, exciting special programs, retrospectives, meetings with acclaimed filmmakers, short film talks, social gatherings and industry events – online.

The festival program will be announced soon!
We will soon announce the complete festival program on our website, which will also serve as this year’s digital viewing platform. You can already find the competition programs on our website. When the complete program is announced, festival passes will also be available for purchase.

We hope that as many as possible will be able to follow our live events as they happen, for the genuine festival experience. By following our events live you will have the chance to meet the film industry, ask questions and participate in discussions.

The festival will be arranged from Oslo
Because of the circumstances surrounding the outbreak, we have, with a heavy heart, made the decision to not arrange the festival in Grimstad. This year’s, many of our events will be conducted from a production studio in Oslo. We have taken into account that Grimstad currently has no registered infections, and we don’t want to risk the health of our staff, our guests and the local population by gathering in Grimstad. Neither do we want to place our guests, who understandably may not want to travel at this time, in a difficult position – it may be hard to justify travelling long distances for a short participation.

If you miss Grimstad, you will be able to click on "Skonders S / S Solrik - minute by minute" and join a virtual version of our traditional boat trips, watch the wave of gulls, hear gull screams and get the southern idyll into your own living.

Join us at the festival on June 10th–14th!
In the weeks leading up to the festival, we will present the films and filmmakers you will encounter at this year’s festival, and give you a taste of the program through trailers, interviews and articles. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for continuous updates. All films and other content will be available at www.kortfilmfestivalen.no throughout the festival period June 10th–14th. We will arrange master classes, film talks, director meetings, debates, and facilitate industry meetings on our platform. All events will be live-streamed, recorded and made available to watch on our website.
