Apply for Work in Progress with your short film project

BY: THE EDITORIAL TEAM • APRIL 20th 2026

Now’s your chance to present your short film project at this year’s edition of Work in Progress at the Norwegian Short Film Festival. Three projects will be selected and screened for a panel of experienced industry representatives, consisting of programmers from international film festivals, distributors and the press.

The goal is to give you insight into how the film project, in its current form, is experienced and received by both the industry and the audience. We will screen the film in its entirety, and the screening will be open to the public.

We are looking for films that are close but have not yet locked picture. As a filmmaker, you must be open to going back into the process, if you get feedback that inspires you to do so.

You can also apply if you submitted your film with a work-in-progress version to this year’s Norwegian Short Film Festival and were not selected for the official competition program. Completed films are not eligible.

The festival covers festival passes for the selected participants, but not travel and accommodation. We advise you to apply for travel funds from your regional film center.

Work in Progress will take place in Grimstad between June 10th – 13th. An exact time for the program will be announced at a later date.

Apply here. Please note: The film must have English subtitles.
The deadline for application is May 4th.
