Salon of the Refused

WEDNESDAY JUNE 11th AT 10 PM / PAN

Salon des refusés originated in an exhibition in Paris in 1863, and exhibited works by artists who were not included in the Paris Salon. Salon des refusés exhibited works by major artists such as Paul Cézanne and Edouard Manet, and the exhibition was considered the start of an avant-garde wave, which challenged established art institutions.

The program selection process means plenty of discussions, evaluations, and re-evaluations, and oftentimes the smallest detail becomes the deciding factor. The worst part of the job is undoubtedly giving someone a rejection letter, so we are very happy to have Salon of the Refused back as a program. As usual, all films were selected in a draw.
