Filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud and cinematographer Cecilie Semec have collaborated on four feature films; The Light from the Chocolate Factory (2020) and the trilogy Sex, Dreams and Love (2024), as well as the mid-length film I’m the One You Want. 

In 2025, Dreams won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and all their films have won countless awards at home and abroad. But what makes up the foundation for such a celebrated collaboration? How did it begin, and have they developed their own method and language? And what is it about the lingering narrative that makes photography and words merge?
