Toronto Int. Film Festival presents

The TIFF Short Cuts team proudly reunites with our dear fellow short film enthusiasts in Grimstad to once again share some of the gems from TIFF’s latest lineup.
Representing Canadian talent are James Michael Chiang with a touching dramedy XIE XIE, OLLIE, and Jasmin Mozaffari’s high-stakes drama MOTHERLAND, a follow-up to her award-winning feature debut Firecrackers (TIFF 2018), that took home TIFF’s Short Cuts Award for Best Canadian Film.

Another notable return to TIFF’s stage is Farnoosh Samadi’s TITANIC, SUITABLE VERSIONS FOR IRANIAN FAMILIES, a timely satire of Iranian TV programming politics. Meanwhile, Ecuadorian rising star Ana Cristina Barragán stuns with BIRD, a haunting tale of stolen adolescence.

The documentary selection delights with some unfiltered girl talk in Subarna Dash and Vidushi Gupta’s cheeky animation THIS IS TMI, while Rea Rajčić’s charming directorial debut 1001 NIGHTS tunes into two Croatian pensioners’ daily Turkish soap opera date.
