“To Each Their Cinema” is a film workshop led by the award-winning filmmaker Hisham Zaman. This workshop invites talents of multicultural backgrounds to explore and develop their voice as directors through an intensive, four-weekend workshop.

This program consists of selected exercises created in two separate editions of this workshop. Within strict confines, using themes of love, grief, loneliness and identity, these talents have tried to create minimalist, cinematic moments.

“To Each Their Cinema” challenges the filmmakers to convey complex and emotional human relationships in a short amount of time, with limited resources and focusing on vision before production. 

Snowfall Cinema’s mission is to show that filmmaking isn’t a farfetched dream and for a select few. Hisham’s workshops is a reflection of this, where the film exercises are created within strict guidelines to explore cinematic language, work unconventionally with a mini-crew, a single location, two actors, and a maximum of five settings.
