After great success and numerous awards for her second feature film, Ninjababy (2021), filmmaker Yngvild Sve Flikke won the 2024 Norwegian Television Award Gullruten for Best Director Drama for the TV series Power Play.
With extensive experience from both TV and film, it is a pleasure to welcome Yngvild to Grimstad for an exclusive conversation about her work as a director and screenwriter. Here, she will meet filmmakers, answer questions, and share tips and experiences from her career in short films, feature films and TV. Participants are also encouraged to share their own experiences and to prepare questions.

Yngvild Sve Flikke was a writer and director for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) before making her feature directorial debut in 2015 with the acclaimed Women in Oversized Men’s Shirts. Her second feature, Ninjababy (2021) won several awards, including Audience Awards at SXSW and TIFF in Tromsø, and Best Comedy at the European Film Awards. It received 11 Amanda Award nominations, winning four; Best Screenplay, Director, Actress, and Supporting Actor.
The NRK series Power Play (2023-24) was a success in Norway, won Best Music and Best Series in Cannes Series in 2023, before receiving 14 Golden Screens (Gullruten) nominations and winning 8, including Best Director.
Yngvild’s work has a clear female perspective, operating in the intersection between humor and seriousness. She is currently working on several feature film ideas.
