Dimitris Tsakaleas, Lida Vartzioti
Dimitris Tsakaleas and Lida Vartzioti are a directing duo, currently based in Athens. They are graduates of the School of Film, Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Stavros Niarchos Artworks Fellows, and alumni of Sarajevo and Berlinale Talents. Their first short film Yawth travelled to more than 30 film festivals around the world and was awarded by the Greek Film Centre at the 41st Drama Int. Short Film Festival. Their previous short film, Happy Ending, had its World Premiere at the 45th Norwegian Short Film Festival in 2022. Their latest short film titled Good Girls Club: A Virginity Odyssey world premiered at the 29th Palm Springs Int. ShortFest and won two awards at the 46th Drama Int. Short Film Festival. They are now in post-production with their short film Mermaids, and in the process of financing their first feature film, Friends, Birthdays, Murder, etc.
