Ellen Ugelstad
Ellen Ugelstad is a Norwegian filmmaker based in Oslo. She studied philosophy and anthropology at the University of Oslo before moving to California where she got a Bachelor in film studies. Her debut film, Indian Summer (2011) received several nominations, including DOK Leipzig’s International Young Talent Award, Nordic Dox Award at CPH:DOX, and two Gullruten Award nominations. At Kortfilmfestivalen her short film, The Meeting Room won the Hourglass Award in 2017, and in 2021 she received the Golden Chair Award for Best Norwegian Short Film for The Wonders Beneath the Sea.
