A documentary about the experience of Ross, a queer-identified Cree woman, and her partner as they pursue in vitro fertilisation treatment after deciding to raise a child together. The film also explores how the couple will experience and explore building a family while maneuvering through their differences in race, culture, class and gender roles.
Theola Ross is originally from Pimicikamak Cree Nation, Manitoba, and now lives in Tkaronto, Ontario. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba. Her work focuses on real-life issues and is witness to individuals’ daily struggles and triumphs. She is a frontline worker at the YWCA, and teaches the Cree language to youth in the Toronto District.
