With Happy Cries is part of the project Vor Suplicas. The text is from the 18th century and waswritten by a poor cottager, Østen Kjørren, from Heidal in Gudbrandsdalen. Although this is a Christmas song, there is little snow and few happy families to be found in the lyrics.
