Sabine is a survivor of the 2016 attack on the Maalbeek metro station in Brussels, but suffers from memory loss. It feels like the explosion and coma happened to someone else. Therefore, she tries to fill the emptiness with pictures from an event she has no memory of.
Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis films have been shown and won awards at a number of international festivals (Cannes, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London, IDFA). In 2020, the film Maalbeek was selected at International Critics » Week in Cannes and received the award for best short film at the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur.
