Gjyljeta Berisha has for several years worked as an assistant director and script on major film productions at home and abroad. She is perhaps the best script we have in Norway today. Now she is visiting the Norwegian Short Film Festival to talk about her work.<\/b><\/p>

A script is often considered the director\u2019s right hand on set. The script has full control over the takes, keeps track of the scenes, costumes and props, and ensures that the images are consistent. In this role,<\/p>

Gjyljeta Berisha is described as outstanding.<\/p>

Berisha has been central to a number of acclaimed productions, including Oscar winner \u201cSentimental Value\u201d (2025) by Joachim Trier, and Cannes premiering \u201cFjord\u201d (2026) by Cristian Mungiu. In 2019, she won the Nordisk Film Award for her work on Maria S\u00f8dahl’s \u201cHope\u201d (2019). The jury emphasized that many Norwegian films and TV series have Berisha to thank for being as great as they are.<\/p>

This film talk will be a deep dive into understanding the collaboration between script and director, and how they together can find the flow to create grand film successes.<\/p>

In the film talk with Gjyljeta Berisha, we will talk about the knowledge she has acquired as a script. What has she learned by working so closely with various directors, and how different can the script role be with each director? And what is it about her contribution that makes several directors say they couldn’t have made it without her?<\/p>

Everyone wants to work with Gjyljeta! Berisha has worked closely with directors Eskil Vogt, Jens Lien, Morten Tyldum, Sara Johnsen, P\u00e5l Sletaune, Anne Sewitsky and Eva S\u00f8rhaug. In recent years, she has also moved into the directing role herself, most recently with the TV series \u201c\u00d8lhunden Berit\u201d (NRK 2025). What lessons has she brought with her from the collaborations into her role as a director?<\/p>
