This article will be updated continuously with updates about the festival and significant developments.
Updated March 19th:
The Norwegian Short Film Festival will be arranged in 2020. We hope to determine by the end of March whether we can hold a traditional festival in Grimstad or if the 43rd Norwegian Short Film Festival will take place online.
Submissions this year’s festival are now closed and the competition programs will be announced at the beginning of April.
The coronavirus outbreak is rapidly evolving and we are paying close attention to all measures being made by our government and the international community to keep everyone safe. We follow the recommendations of The Institute of Public Health to make sure that the 43rd edition of The Norwegian Short Film Festival can arranged safely.
The purpose of the Norwegian Short Film Festival is to be an arena for short films and a meeting place for the Norwegian and international film community.
The coronavirus outbreak threatens our function as a meeting place, but we are considering all options to fulfill our purposes. We might have to make changes to our traditional festival format, but the plan is still to realize The Norwegian Short Film Festival 2020 in a manner that is satisfying for participants and audiences.
We encourage everyone to follow the recommendations from The Institute of Public Health.
