This year’s Golden Chair, Best Norwegian Short Film goes to Bird Hearts by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel.
We welcome all with Norwegian shorts, documentaries and music videos to enter their film for this years competition. We look forward to seeing all the talent we know we have in Norway these days! 2016 had a record amount of entries: 468 Norwegian films.
In cooperation with Oslo iFusion, The Norwegian Short Film Festival screens seven queer, international short films.
In cooperation with the famous Norwegian beer company Nøgne Ø we invite participants of the festival to a tour and beer tasting at the local brewery.

This year’s Golden Chair, best Norwegian Short Film, went to Small Talk, with a local producer from Grimstad, Jon M. Puntervold. Director Even Hafnor is also from the south of Norway, the city of Kristiansand. This is an historic award, as it is the first time a filmmaker from Grimstad has won the main prize in the festival’s 38 year long history.
Never before have we received so many Norwegian films, all of 438 films were submitted! 316 of these were short films. This is an increase of 20% from the average from 2010 – 2014.
