Mårten Nilsson is a Swedish cinematographer,
director and producer, with more than
20 years of experience. Basing his work on
the physical filmstrip, Nilsson works with
form and expression in experimental film. His
characteristically personal and quirky short
films also have a strong political undertone.
He currently prefers to work collectively with
Gunilla Heiborn and Kim Hiorthøy. In 2008
they won a Guldbagge Award for Best Short
Film with What You Do. Their latest film,
This is Alaska, will be shown as part of our
special programmes.
